Of all the markets covered in this report, CAISO saw the mildest weather during the month of January—and it still was subject to a couple of cold events, starting mid-month for one week and then again over the final seven days of January. These cold fronts only took the daily average temperature down by 5 degrees or so below normal at the coldest—and only under 50 degrees for the daily average temperature twice. This is compared to much colder conditions elsewhere in the country during the month with temperatures 15-25 degrees below average.
