Newsletter Renewable Monthly | November 2024 - Slow Winter Transition

CAISO sticks out from the other markets across the country covered in this report when it comes to the weather over the past month-and-a-half.  While most of the country was enjoying significantly warmer than average temperatures throughout November, California was seeing the opposite with some colder weather to start off the month and block of below-normal temps in the middle of the month as well.  Of course, colder than normal in California is not the same as cold in the Midwest or the Northeast and the weather pattern produced only a slight uptick in CAISO load relative to recent years, averaging 24 GW for the month compared to 23.5 GW the previous year and 23.3 in 2022
